Girl Scout Volunteers
Girl Scouts of the USA is the largest voluntary organization for girls in the world! At Girl Scouts of Buckeye Trails Council we know that the strength of our organization rests on the voluntary leadership of our adult members.
As a Girl Scout volunteer, you will become involved in an organization that has tradition and vision for the future. For 95 years, volunteers have been vital in providing quality program experiences especially for girls.
Working with Girl Scouts can give you many rewards that you don't always get in daily life. You'll make a difference in the lives of young people by sharing your skills and talents.

ELF Program for New Leaders
An Experienced Leader Friend, or an ELF, is a volunteer with the knowledge & experience to help a new leader learn to feel more competent and comfortable leading a group of girls.
While there is no formal training for ELFs, they should make the new leader feel welcome & aware of the many resources available, and guide them through the first few troop meetings. ELFs are being provided with the following resources to help give new leaders consistent information!
1) A Checklist of ways for ELFs to help a new leaders.
2) “Need-to-Know” Flip Cards that explain the basics of how to safely run a troop.
Questions? Contact your Service Unit Training Consultant or the Adult Development Department.
*Remember, all ELFs must be appointed by the Training Consultant & Service Unit Manager!
