receiving some general repairs. Electric lights
and ceiling fans are being installed in Tall Oaks
Cabins. Kitchen shelters are being screened and
the pool will be painted. We are projecting
reopening the camp in July.
Need an excuse to play golf?
We hope you will consider joining us at the
10th Annual Cookie Classic – a best ball golf
scramble to benefit Girl Scout programs and
services. Over the past nine years, support from
individuals like you has helped raise more than
$200,000 for Girl Scout programming in sports,
career development and mentoring initiatives.
The Cookie Classic will be held on Monday, June
18th at Walnut Grove Country Club. All golfers
receive lunch, 18 holes of golf with cart, a
sleeve of golf balls, a box of Girl Scout cookies,
beverages and snacks. Register yourself ($150),
bring a friend or gather a Foursome! We hope you
will support this event and help offer "every
girl, everywhere" the opportunity to experience
the exceptional programs provided by Girl

Announcement of New Council
Name
Following a polling of delegates at
each of the Annual Meetings of the four merging
councils, the Council Realignment Committee has
adopted Girl Scouts of Western
Ohio as the name for the new merged
Council. The decision was based on the
overwhelming number of votes being cast for that
choice of name.
Launch of New Web Site
We are pleased and excited to
announce that Girl Scouts of Western Ohio will
launch a joint web site on July 2, 2007. The new
web site will be a central source for merger
information. Each council will be maintaining
their current web site for local services and
information. The new combined site will have links
to all four of the current council web sites.
Watch the council web site for a link that will
connect you to the Girl Scouts of Western Ohio web
site.

Girl Scouts Take the
Wheel
We have a GREAT opportunity for girls to attend
a "Getaway" at Camp Whip Poor Will this
summer. We have received a grant for a
program for girls 14 -17 to attend a week long
program called Take the Wheel.
Take the Wheel is an intensive multi-faceted
expansion of the Buckeye Trails Council's
successful program Cashin' in on Cars and will be
held July 21st-28th, 2007. This project is
designed to encourage girls to take charge of
their future by seriously considering the diverse
educational and career opportunities available to
them in the automotive field. The fee is
$125 for the week with $75 being returned to the
girl after the session to do her own program to
her council or service unit!
Please see the web site for details. If you
have any questions about this Getaway contact, Patti
Davy by email or call
