Girl Scouts of Western Ohio offers adult volunteers a variety of ways to enrich their volunteer experience and build skills in working with girls. The following enrichment opportunities are listed by geographic region, however any volunteer within Girl Scouts of Western Ohio can participate in any enrichment experience.

ARCHERY

No previous knowledge of archery is needed! This National Field Archery Association course will certify you as an archery facilitator for camps and youth programs. Participants will learn how to teach young archers to shoot successfully, how to develop an archery program and how to operate a safe program range. Minimum: 3 Maximum: 7

BACKPACKING

Learn what and how to pack for day – or longer hiking trips! Prepare yourself and your girls, decide how much to take, and choose the right equipment to make your next outdoor adventure safe, fun & exciting! Some walking will be required, so wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather.

Learn the basics of campfire cooking, get lots of recipes and ideas for making your next outdoor cooking experience one to remember for your girls. Recommended for any adult who wants to learn outdoor cooking skills.

GEOCACHING

Learn to play "High Tech Hide & Seek" by introducing yourself to the sport of Geocaching! Learn to incorporate GPS (Global Positioning System) technology into Girl Scout activities and cover the basics for helping girls earn the corresponding IP. Some walking will be required, so wear appropriate shoes and dress for the weather!
