ADVENTURE
CHALLENGE EDUCATION - HIGH ROPES |
   |
|
Although this opportunity is
done in a group setting, its primary objective
is to challenge individuals, mentally,
physically and emotionally. After completing
this activity you will definitely feel a sense
of accomplishment. Other group members will be
there for support and encouragement.
Participants are fitted with a safety harness
and helmet and start with a safety class. Then
they will climb the 30 foot climbing wall to
reach the high elements. Complete elements like
the postmans walk, balance beam, and multi-vine.
Then for the really adventurous finale zip down
our 350’ zip line back to the ground. Workshops
are approximately 3 hrs. long.

BRIDGE TO ADULT WORKSHOP |
 |
|
This workshop is available to
graduating seniors to meet the requirements for
the Bridge to Adult pin, which will be presented
at the adult recognition event in April.
If the graduating senior would
like to receive her pin at the annual
Recognition Event and cannot attend a workshop,
she needs to write a description of what she did
to fulfill the three steps and request that the
pin be awarded at the annual Recognition Event.
The Bridge to Adult requirements are found at
www.girlscouts.org/program/gs_central/insignia/bridging_awards/adult.asp.
This information must be submitted to the Girl
Scout Center by March 31, 2011.
A graduating senior may also earn and receive
the Bridge to Adult pin by doing the three steps
in her troop or alone and receive her bridging
pin in a troop meeting or service unit meeting
after taking part in a Bridging ceremony that
she helped plan.

JUMPIN' TO
JUNIORS |
 |
|
Girl Scout Brownies, who are in
3rd grade, preparing to bridge to Junior Girl
Scouting can come to Camp Libbey and work on
their bridging requirements, all while having
fun with Girl Scout Juniors who will serve as
their hostesses and teach their classes. Only
bridging Brownies are eligible to attend this
program. Girls will work on their first Junior
badge, "Making It Matter" by learning about
polymers, engineering, and acids and bases as
well as work toward bridging requirements.
Brownie leaders will have the option of
attending the Junior Leader training while the
girls are going through their classes, if you
would like more adults in the training indicate
so on your registration form (at least one adult
must travel to the classes with the girls).
It is not required that girls attend this
program in order to bridge to Girl Scout
Juniors. Troops that attend this program do NOT
complete the activities for the Bridge to
Juniors patch. Lunch is included with this
opportunity.

POWER UP |
 |
|
What happens when friendship
becomes a weapon? Girls will learn about
bullying or what is better know as relational
aggression (RA). This workshop will help girls
identify what RA looks like as they learn about
social bullying, relational bullying, cyber
bullying, and the roles they play in each. They
will learn how to be a good friend, to stand up
for themselves and others and what to do if they
see bullying happening. A must for every girl
trying to navigate the maze of junior high
school. This workshop lasts approximately 4 ½
hours.
