Congratulations to our 2007 Young Women of Distinction
The 2007 Young Women of Distinction event was a very exciting evening for everyone. We honored the Girl Scout Gold Award, Girl Scout Silver Award, Girl Scout Bronze Award and Buckeye Trails Scholarships recipients. Our special guest Kathy Cloninger, CEO of Girl Scouts of the USA really added a special touch to this year's event. Thank you to all of the volunteers, mentors and parents that helped the girls achieve their honors.
Buckeye Trails Girl Scout Selected as National Young Woman of Distinction
It is with great pleasure that we announce the selection of Elizabeth Okrutny as a Girl Scouts of the USA Young Woman of Distinction for her Girl Scout Gold Award project. Elizabeth will be one of only ten Girl Scouts nationally to receive this honor! Elizabeth is from TippCity and is currently a freshman at OhioNorthernUniversity majoring in forensic biology. Her Gold Award project involved researching, selecting and installing a composite sketch system for the Tipp City Police Department. She developed and delivered training on the use of the system. The tool has already been shared with other law enforcement departments in MiamiCounty.Elizabeth will travel to WashingtonDC in June to receive the award. We are so proud of her accomplishment.
Special thanks to the committees for all your hard work and dedication.
Your willingness to serve, attend and help organize this ceremony proves
