Social Responsibility in Girl Scouting Award  

Social Responsibility in Girl Scouting Award recognizes a volunteer in or outside of Girl Scouting who provides service for a fourth time to the council or GSUSA.

Criteria

The nominee...

• adheres to all policies and procedures of the Girl Scout organization

• is given appropriate orientation to the audience and some information on the Girl Scout program

• has provided service to a troop/group, service unit, association, the entire council, or GSUSA

• should have provided the service during the current membership year.

Examples  

• A silk screening instructor returns to teach new techniques multiple times.

• A police officer shares personal safety measures with additional troops/groups each year.

• A manager of a pizza restaurant demonstrates how pizzas are made during various times of the membership year to multiple troops/groups.

• A Red Cross instructor returns to teach a babysitting course at a yearly day camp.

• An NCR employee helps with registration at various council program events each year.

• A marketing consultant continues to help GSUSA with implementation of a marketing plan.

Volunteer Service Pin

Procedures

• Nominator completes form 926 and gives to the Training Consultant.

• Training Consultant records information from form 926 on Individual Record

• Training Consultant then sends form to the Volunteer Development Department at Council.

• Training Consultant or Service Unit Manager purchases Volunteer Service Pin from Shop.

• Service Unit sends or presents pin to volunteer
