Outstanding Leader Award Criteria
The Outstanding Leader Award recognizes troop/group leaders, assistant troop/group leaders, or group coordinators whose performance in working with girls is so outstanding that it merits recognition by the geographic or program delivery unit
Criteria
The nominee...
-
is a registered Girl Scout adult.

has completed appropriate training, or demonstrated competence in girl-adult partnership, communication, membership development, pluralism, and program delivery.

has exceeded expectations for the position as outlined in the job description or agreement.

has a nominator who completes the Nomination for Adult Recognition - Awards Requiring Service Team approval and solicits a minimum of two letters of endorsement from troop members or their family.

has a nominator who sends the nomination form and endorsements to the Director of Volunteer Development.

The assistant troop leader who recruits and retains an active troop committee that results in increased program opportunities.

The group leader whose creative activities attract increasing numbers of girls to an after-school program.

The day camp leader who plans with older girl program aides and who welcomes additional girls to her unit so that more girls have the opportunity to attend camp.

The troop leader who develops a series of activities that give girls the opportunity to interact with people from different cultures in the community.
Award Placement
The Outstanding Leader Award is a pin depicting a leadership torch against a yellow background. It is worn on the right side of the uniform, below the personalized identification pin, or on either side of the Years of Service pin.
If an adult has received more than one special award, e.g. Appreciation Pin or Honor Pin, the last one received is generally the one worn on the uniform.
