The Girl Scout Mentoring Award recognizes a volunteer who is a coach and/or mentor for a new volunteer.
Criteria
The nominee...
-
is a registered Girl Scout.
-
adheres to all policies and procedures of the Girl Scout organization.

has completed appropriate orientation and training for the volunteer position.

has completed successful volunteer service for one year in the Girl Scout organization at the local or national level.

should have provided the service during the current membership year.
Examples

A returning leader is a mentor to a new leader.

A retiring Service Unit Manager coaches a new a manager.

A retiring service team consultant coaches a new service team member.
-
An experienced or master level trainer is a mentor to an apprentice trainer.

A veteran committee member mentors a first year member.
Recognition
White Key (and Volunteer Development Pin, if do not have.)
Procedures
-
Nominator completes form 926 and gives to the Training Consultant.

Training Consultant records information from form 926 on Individual Record
-
Training Consultant then sends form to the Volunteer Development Department at Council.

Training Consultant or Service Unit Manager purchases White Key (and Volunteer Development Pin) from Shop.

Service Unit sends or presents key (and pin) to volunteer.
