Community Participation Award
The Community Participation Award recognizes a volunteer in or outside of Girl Scouting who provides a first-time service to the council or GSUSA.
Criteria
The nominee...
-
adheres to all policies and procedures of the Girl Scout organization.
-
is given appropriate orientation to the audience and some information on the Girl Scout program.
-
has provided service to a troop/group, service unit, association, the entire council, or GSUSA.
-
should have provided the service during the current membership year.
Examples
-
A silk screening instructor teaches girls how to silk screen a t-shirt.
-
A police officer shares personal safety measures with a troop/group.

A manager of a pizza restaurant demonstrates how pizzas are made.

A Red Cross instructor teaches a babysitting course at day camp.

A dancer instructor teaches the hula at a jamboree.

A pilot takes wider-op participants through the cockpit of a jet.
Recognition
Thank You Letter to the volunteer and volunteer’s employer, if desired.
Procedures

Nominator writes and sends letter to first-time volunteer and employer, if desired.

Nominator completes form 926 and gives to the Training Consultant.

Training Consultant records information from form 926 on Individual Record
-
Training Consultant then sends form to the Volunteer Development Department at Council.
